Postgraduate course in Smart Towns management

Online Course from Desember 15th to March 23th

A project of the City Council of Calonge i Sant Antoni, together with Cambra de Comerç de Palamós and Fundació UdG .

Many villages in Baix Empordà have a common problem. They have many houses, streets, urbanizations, very separated from each other and with a difficult management and maintenance. Also its population multiplies by 10 or more during the summer season. There are currently not many Smart solutions to control these needs, so this project was born to act as a test for these solutions and then be sold as products or services for the whole world. More than a year ago, the City Council of Calonge i Sant Antoni launched the AltaMar project, a Business Incubator that wants to be a reference on the Costa Brava. Calonge i Sant Antoni has been part of the SmartCAT Challenge, a project to solve the challenges that have been posed in six Catalan municipalities, during the years 2016 and 2017. Our municipality has been a test for the different Smart Cities projects presented in the contest.

The methodology to be followed will be theoretical and practical. Students will receive training and at the same time decide on a group business project (2-3 people) and will have the necessary support for the project to be developed and carried out at the end of the program. The projects presented will be presented in different environments, in order to attract investment and / or equipment needed to carry out the business idea. The program consists of 100 training hours (30h in challenges and opportunities for the management of smart housing, 30h in technologies present in Smart Cities and 40 hours in business management) plus 12 / mentoring project by a mentor .
